To protest against atrocities and highhandedness the freedom fighters joined in a hunger strike in 1933 which went on for 46 days in which Mahavir , Mohit Mohan Moitra and Mohankrishna Dass became martyrs . इन अत्याचारों के विरूद्ध 1933 में भूख हड़ताल हुई , जो 46 दिन तक चली , जिसमें महावीर , मोहित मोहन मोइत्र तथा मोहनकृष्ण दास वीरगति को प्राप्त हुए .

General Conduct in the House : Resort to hunger-strike , dharna or any type of demonstration or performance of any religious function in the precincts of the Parliament is not permissible . सदन में सामान्य आचरण : संसद के परिसरों में भूख हड़ताल करने , धरना देने , या किसी प्रकार का प्रदर्शन करने या कोई धार्मिक कार्य करने की अनुमति नहीं है .

In 1937 when the Congress government was formed in many provinces , the freedom fighters repeated their demands for repatriation to their respective provinces and , in order to further press this demand , on 25 July 1937 about 183 freedom fighters went on a hunger strike . सन् 1937 में जब विभिन्न प्रांतों में कांग्रेसी सरकारें बनीं , तो स्वतंत्रता-सेनानियों ने अपने अपने प्रांतों में जाने की मांग को दोहराया और 25 जुलाई , 1937 को 183 स्वतंत्रता-सेनानियों ने भूख हड़ताल आरंभ कर दी , इस समाचार ने समस्त देश में खलबली पैदा कर दी .
